Teaching Experience

  • Chicago Public Schools / Chicago, IL
    Science Teacher / 2023 – present

I currently teach science to middle schools students in grades 6 and 7. I follow an inquiry-based approach using the Amplify curriculum, and I include supplemental lab time and hands on activities. Students work together to solve real-world problems that are presented to them by professional scientists and researches across the globe.
  • Brighton Area Schools / Brighton, MI
    French & Technology Teacher / 2016 – 2023

As a 6th grade French teacher, I taught an exploratory French class that lasted one trimester. I also taught one section of a year-long introductory technology class where students learn the basics of computers and move up to eventually programming robots. During my final year teaching for Brighton, I had transitioned into teaching a technology class to all 5th grade students, using the Digital Citizenship curriculum from Common Sense Media.
  • Pearson Virtual Schools / Virtual, USA
    Online French & Science Teacher / 2020 – current

I currently support K-12 students with their online French and science courses in Pearson Online Classroom and Pearson Connexus platforms. I also provide online office hours (“Teacher Time”) where students are able to drop by for some face-to-face instruction or ask questions in the Class platform by Zoom.
  • Oxford Virtual Academy / Virtual, MI
    Online French Teacher / 2015 – 2024

I supported K-12 students with their online French courses in Connexus and Middlebury platforms, which they took through Oxford Virtual Academy. I also provided online office hours where students could set up some face-to-face instruction or discussion time via Google Hangouts or Zoom.
  • Oakland Christian School / Auburn Hills, MI
    French Teacher / 2015 – 2016
I taught French I, II, and III to middle and high school students using a completely online curriculum that emphasized authentic, real-world communication. Some of those real-world situations included a simulated plane trip to Paris and getting lost during a visit to Lyon.
  • Ann Arbor Public Schools / Ann Arbor, MI
    Teaching Intern / 2015
I completed my student teaching internship under the guidance of Leslie Landrum, teaching French to 6th, 7th, and 8th graders at Scarlett Middle School. The classes lasted for a quarter, a semester, and a full year, respectively.
